Things to Check

If you're trying to debug why BottomScanner isn't returning many/any results, here are a list of things to check. Some require you have a specific item identified (say, in your browse window), which has a tooltip you can refer to.

Tooltip checklist
- Check the bottom of the tooltip for the various evaluator valuations. The item needs to have a bid (if you have bidding enabled) or buyout price lower than at least one of these evaluators in order for BottomScanner to even consider the item a good buy
General BottomScanner Options
- If you're browsing for items yourself, rather than by scanning, make sure that is turned on
- If BottomScanner isn't changing pages on you, make sure that option is turned on
- Reserve Price must be set lower than your current gold amount
- Max Price should be at a reasonably high level
- At least one of "allow bid" or "allow buyout" must be checked
Evaluator specific Options
- Make sure the desired evaluator is enabled, and set to bid and/or buyout
- The higher your minimum profit, the fewer number of hits BottomScanner will find
- The higher your minimum discount, the fewer number of hits BottomScanner will find
- If you have quality checking enabled, make sure it is not set too high
- If you have "seen" count checked, make sure it is not too high, or that the item you are debugging has been seen enough
Filter specific Options
- Start by turning off all filters
- You can turn them back on once you are sure how they are used, but check and make sure the item you are debugging won't be caught by any filters you have enabled

- Make sure you haven't ignored the specific seller who has listed the item you are debugging
- Make sure you don't have yourself filtered out, if you are looking at an item you listed
Things which are not easy to debug yet
- Make sure you haven't ignored the item you're debugging, either globally, or for the specific evaluator you're debugging, or above a specific price. At the moment of this writing, this can only be done by manually going through your SV data file, which is not for the faint of heart.
